I AM LILIA…

I am a Brazilian with a gypsy soul; I have travelled to over 40 countries and lived on three continents. I nourish the idea of living life to the fullest with a grand sense of adventure. My passion for movement and finding the pulse in nature made me choose New Zealand as home.

I now live in my tiny house in Queenstown, surrounded by dramatic mountains rising sharply from Lake Wakatipu. So what yoga and travelling have in common?

They have both taught me to follow my heart and soul, to not be afraid of taking chances or live in uncertainty. To appreciate and feel the grandness of nature, and to understand we are connected, we are one.

Most importantly, through travel and yoga, I understood that adventure and fulfillment could also be found in stillness, in going within instead of going outwards.

THE BODY IS A VEHICLE FOR AWAKENING

Each time I step into the mat, it is with a huge sense of gratitude and respect. I am so honoured to hold space; I am fully present in the moment, so my students find a safe space to quiet their minds, practice awareness, and connect to their bodies and hearts.

My passion for teaching comes with an understanding that I will always be a student, continually educating myself and looking for ways to deepen my knowledge. You will find a deep focus on breath, alignment, intuitive movement, and meditation in my classes.

GRIEF MOVEMENT

I also explore yoga for grief in my teaching. I experienced loss and suffering when my husband, Jakub, passed away four months after being diagnosed with cancer at age 34. This experience required all the strength I had to find my way out of the depths. Life has shaken me up and broken me down. But brokenness has created space for transformation, and today I facilitate grief movement classes as a way to heal and re-engage in the hope and beauty of life.
